Dr Jeff Chang

Dr Jeff Chang is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist who consults from Macquarie GI. He provides endoscopy at Macquarie University Hospital (private) and at Nepean Hospital (public).

He holds staff specialist appointments at Nepean and Concord Hospital and is a visiting medical officer additionally at Nepean Private Hospital, Hospital for Specialist Surgery and Norwest Private Hospital.

He obtained his fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2011 after completing gastroenterology training at Gosford and Concord Hospitals. On completion, he pursued further training as the clinical research Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Fellow at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh, the tertiary centre for IBD referrals in Scotland. On his return, he further embarked on a clinical IBD fellowship in Concord Hospital before enrolling in a PhD in examining intestinal permeability via confocal endomicroscopy in inflammatory bowel disease and is currently working towards completion. For this work, he has been successfully awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) scholarship in 2014.

Dr Chang has interests in IBD, reflux disease, cancer surveillance and viral hepatitis but is well versed in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology. He is bilingual, fluent in both English and Mandarin and would be happy to provide consultations in either languages.
